The second year of training is one of depth, insight and revelation as we begin to delve into the Kabbalah itself, with its mystical vision of the creation of the universe, the process of manifestation and its depiction of the Etz Chayyim, or Tree of Life.
The Tree of Life is a living, dynamic description of the relational matrix of Creation. Both the Four Universesalso explored in the second yearand the Tree of Life reveal to us the nature of reality as finite and infinite, holographic and linear, and by so doing, reveal our human destiny.
In the second year of training we become intimate with the living forces of divinity as described in the Tree. Through various meditations we learn how to embody these fundamental conditions of creation for the purpose of healing.
We now begin to enter into the world of the IKH healings themselves. We learn about their origins in ancient Kabbalah and we begin to see how Jason developed this healing modality from the ancient texts.
We are introduced to some of the basic IKH meditations, which help us to strengthen our body, mind and spirit in order to embody the sephirot, or Kabbalistic gateways of Reality and Attributes of the Divine. This ability forms the basis of all the IKH healings we will learn. We come to understand that IKH healings are based not on energy but on our encounter with the various levels of relationship described in the Tree of Life.
On a personal level, in Year Two we continue to discover what it means to be in relationship with the parts of ourselves that we had to abandon in order to survive our childhood wounds. This lays the foundation for further transformation as students begin to enter into an increasingly awake relationship with Life.
We discover during this year the importance of honesty and true compassion. We learn how to be more of ourselves in the moment, revealing to our companions in the community more of who we are and our struggles in simply being human. We learn to call upon support from others on the journey. We learn that support is always there, in many different forms, to help us along the path.
This year we also look deeply at healing and the ego. We learn to stop trying to get rid of the ego and discover the importance of having a healed ego. We learn, perhaps for the first time, that the ego, when healed or returned to its proper form and place, becomes an abode for the holy. We get a glimpse of what it means to be made in the image of God.
